Meat Sauce

This is my go-to meat sauce for lasagnas and pastas. It’s a thick sauce, not very watery/saucey.


Ingredients

  • 15 oz can of crushed tomatoes

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 4-8oz jar of sliced button mushrooms

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp garlic salt

  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning

  • 1 can of tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat over medium-high heat

  2. Add the garlic, onions, and bell peppers. Cook until veggies are cooked through/soft

  3. Add the tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, seasonings, and mushrooms

  4. Stir to combine

  5. Simmer for 20-30 minutes
